Conservator Vacancy, Otago Settlers Museum (611-1148)
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced Conservator to be actively involved in a major redevelopment project and develop the Museum's newly established Conservation Laboratory.
As a member of the OSM Team you will prepare the collections for display, undertake conservation assessments, scientific examination, treatments, documentation, research, publications and work with the Museum's Collections Team in monitoring collections and preventative conservation.
The successful applicant must have a recognised tertiary qualification in conservation, a minimum of five years practical experience in the conservation of mixed collections (wood, metal, textile, plastics, stone, ceramics, glass) and a proven knowledge of current conservation practices.
