CALL FOR PAPERS
Parallel Universes: Exploring the collaborative process in conservationNZCCM National Conference 2011, Wellington, New Zealand, November 2- 4, 2011 Carter Observatory
The New Zealand Conservators of Cultural Material will be holding its next National Conference in Wellington. The theme is one of collaboration and diversity.
Conservators are often faced with situations that push the boundaries of traditional practice or even their job descriptions. The conference aims to explore the diversity of roles conservators often undertake while working alongside and in conjunction with related professions. It also seeks to explore how related professions can at times carry responsibility for the conservation of cultural material that may expand the notions of traditional conservation practice.
Proposals are invited for presentations that address the topic of collaboration and diversity within conservation. We also welcome papers on conservation treatments, research or preventive approaches for conservation in general. Artists, curators, registrars and people in other cultural heritage-related fields are encouraged to present a paper related to their experience and perception of conservation. Proposals for workshops may also be considered.
Abstracts up to 300 words in length should be submitted by 31 July 2011 to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Speakers will be notified by 31 August 2011 if their submissions have been accepted.
