Affiliate Membership Requirements 

Affiliate members of NZCCM come from all walks of life and show commitment to the support of conserving cultural materials. This includes undergraduates, those working in related fields, or suppliers to the profession. If you have any questions regarding eligibility and the application process outlined below, please get in touch with our Membership Committee. 


Applicants must be able through training, knowledge or professional experience to:

Show they support the work of conserving cultural material

OR

Show they are studying for a formal qualification in the conservation of cultural material

AND

Be willing to familiarize themselves with and support the principles and ethics that underpin the NZCCM Constitution and Code of Ethics


SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION 

Required

    • NZCCM offers free affiliate memberships for students.  Applicants who are applying for student membership must provide proof of student status to qualify for the waiver of the subscription fee.
    • We will accept copies of your Student I.D. card or official Bursar or Registrar confirmation from your University.


There are no other supporting documentation requirements for Affiliate membership.

Please supply all the required information in digital format and in English; the NZCCM does not have the resources to provide translations.

Please upload these documents during the application process. 

Please note that the Membership Committee reserves the right to request additional information from your referees and from you regarding projects as necessary.


APPLICATION PROCESS SUMMARY 

  • NZCCM accepts applications for membership at any time.  Once you fill in the application form and upload any relevant and necessary documents, you will receive an email acknowledgement of receipt of your application.
  • The NZCCM Membership Committee will consider and make decisions on applications within six weeks of the submission dates.  A simple majority of the Membership Committee should vote in favour of the application to secure that person as an Affiliate member of the NZCCM.
  • You will receive an email with the Membership Committee’s decision. 
  • A successful applicant shall be deemed an Affiliate of the NZCCM upon payment of the annual subscription fee (or proof of waiver for students).  You can pay the subscription when you apply online or wait until you receive your acknowledgement letter.
  • Payment terms for successful candidates is 30 days from the acceptance notifications. Successful applicant names, photographs (optional) and profiles will be published in the subsequent NZCCM Newsletter which is published quarterly.
