About/bio
My family (husband and 4-year-old son) and I are based in Masterton. I have a strong passion for conservation, particularly in regards to paper I feel that the effect of seeing and feeling an original document is one not able to be replicated digitally, and I want to be part of keeping that feeling alive for others to access.

I am looking into further training in this field, but attending Melbourne University is not on the cards just yet! I am looking into as much online training as possible in the current climate, and I feel that the knowledge gained from networking within the NZCCM will be invaluable.
Qualifications and/or experience
I have been at the Masterton Library and Wairarapa Archive for coming up 11 years, and have spent the majority of that time training under Gareth Winter, who has since retired.

Prior to this, I spent around 18 months at Archives New Zealand on the Repoman Replacement Project. Here I learnt techniques for creating custom boxes for various sized volumes, as well as other conservation methods that I have carried into my career in Wairarapa.
Relevant training
I have a BA in History from Massey University, I have completed the Managing Local Government Archives course through ALGIM, and I recently attended Risk Management Training: Disaster Preparedness and Response for Libraries, Archives and Records through Triptych. The latter course is one that I thoroughly enjoyed, and it was Joy Culy who recommended that I apply for a membership to the NZCCM.
